چکیده

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (Fon) is the causative agent of wilt disease watermelon; it most serious soil-borne pathogen around globe. The yield loss 30–80% or even more, and presently a major hindrance to watermelon cultivation worldwide. Initially, infected plant shows symptoms like turgor pressure leaves vines that can be recovered at night. progress in contaminated transplants turns into dull green yellow finally necrotic. When fungus continues colonize xylem vessel, usually forms more tyloses, limiting water movement causing wilt. correct identification necessary for proper control. As such, selection molecular marker could serve as an effective means screening pathogen. Additionally, different methods have also been reported Fon. Therefore, this review focused on comprehensive description biology, diversity, detection, aggressiveness, mycotoxin production, eco-friendly management strategies watermelon.

Antifungal Activity and Action Mode of Cuminic Acid from the Seeds of Cuminum cyminum L. against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Niveum (FON) Causing Fusarium Wilt on Watermelon.

In order to develop a novel biofungicide, the antifungal activity and action mode of cuminic acid from the seed of Cuminum cyminum L. against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (FON) on watermelon was determined systematically. In this study, the median effective concentration (EC50) value for cuminic acid in inhibiting mycelial growth of FON was 22.53 μg/mL. After treatment with cuminic acid, th...

Genome and Transcriptome Analysis of the Fungal Pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Causing Banana Vascular Wilt Disease

BACKGROUND The asexual fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc) causing vascular wilt disease is one of the most devastating pathogens of banana (Musa spp.). To understand the molecular underpinning of pathogenicity in Foc, the genomes and transcriptomes of two Foc isolates were sequenced. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Genome analysis revealed that the genome structures of race 1 and r...

CCR4-Not Complex Subunit Not2 Plays Critical Roles in Vegetative Growth, Conidiation and Virulence in Watermelon Fusarium Wilt Pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum

CCR4-Not complex is a multifunctional regulator that plays important roles in multiple cellular processes in eukaryotes. In the present study, the biological function of FonNot2, a core subunit of the CCR4-Not complex, was explored in Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (Fon), the causal agent of watermelon wilt disease. FonNot2 was expressed at higher levels in conidia and germinating conidia and...
